Mr. Stewart and Mrs. Ashwood-Stewart, I struggle to find the words to say to you. I trust and believe that Nyle is resting in the arms of Jesus and as time goes by, I hope that you will be comforted in that knowledge until the day comes when Nyle will be the one welcoming you. You and your family remain in my prayers and know that through it all, God is carrying you. Much love.

Michelle, Roger and my heart is with you and you are squarely in my thoughts and heart and prayers as you face what must be the hardest day. I can only imagine the emotions but I do know that you are surrounded in love, light, prayer and God’s promises to never forsake you. It is clear that Nyle left an indelible mark in the hearts and lives of many and His love and presence will be with you always. Sincere regrets that I am unable to join in celebrating his life with you all but I send you large hugs and lots of love and prayers that you will find the strength today and each day ahead.

Although I only met Nyle in his young days, Michelle and I worked at the UWI. I know how much Nyle meant to both Roger and Michelle. To his parents and loved ones left behind I say Nyle is resting in God's arms. Be comforted Roger and Michelle

I realize that Nyle was not just an ordinary young man,but a special,God-given, talented, considerate person who had a caring and nurturing spirit. He impacted so many lives, and was truly a blessing to everyone. As you all face the reality of today for the final (earthly) good-bye, may God grant you strength, peace and comfort, knowing that Nyle's heavenly treasures and crown of glory awaits him. "It is well." Rest well Nyle.

Memories forever cherished are the memories that were created with those that we hold dear. Though time passes by, they go unaltered, unchanged, forever frozen in reality, but constantly moving in our thoughts. If I had a picture frame, I would frame my memories of you Nyle for the world to see. Though we were not peas pod close, you felt like family. Our simply exchanges have left a lasting impression on me. Whether it was seeing you waiting patiently outside your mother's door and asking you if you if you would like to go in. Or the "odd" comments you would make in the middle of a conversation leaving everyone. laughing to the point that they want to roll on the floor. Most of all, its your persistence in the midst of adversity. For though we will all miss you, as the words of one of the songs I grow up listening to says, "Prepare to meet me there, I am going on before..", and as Mrs. Ashwood-Stewart often reminds us do not worry about when you are going to die but the state that your life is in when you die. I will try my best to live an exemplary life in the eyes of the Lord so we may meet again. So until then.....

Michelle and Roger , there's little we can say to comfort you as you come to terms with the finality of Nyle's passing. I hope you will find some solace in the tremendous impact that he had on so many persons in his brief life. Praying that the Lord will continue to support and strengthen you even as we celebrate Nyle's life. No more pain. No more suffering. His spirit is now free!

Corey Russell-Prince Post tribute on Friday, September 28, 2018 - 18:03
It was Nyle who pulled me aside after church one Sunday and planted the seed whether to start a foundation in honour of Macrina. I am grateful. Since shortly after coming to the Greendale United Church I always marvelled at how this little kid (now clearly a humble heart-throb for obviously not a few young ladies) had something smart and funny to say. After EVERY conversation I ALWAYS walked away laughing out loud or to myself (and thinking). So I will always remember my neighbour and brother in Christ, Nyle, as a funny (often dry humour) youngster with a mature and working mind. I have thought that if we were 20 years closer in age there is no doubt we would be very close friends; but it is now that I am discovering that he was also so very highly respected and regarded among his peers at school, church and more. I celebrate that he is sleeping peacefully before going home to be with the LORD. Heaven bound, he's in good company with my wife and the other saints I know who have shed this mortal coil. Thank you Father for my having known him and for the parents You gave him.

I only had the fortune of meeting this young man a few times, but the impressions were lasting. Such a humble and thoughtful soul. So kind and promising. I send my best wishes to his family now and for the years to come.

To the Family: Although it may seem hard in the beginning, trust and know that the Lord has a plan. We are on this earth but for a short time; though I never met Nyle, I have had interactions with Mrs. Ashwood-Stewart and I too lost a loved one recently. Take heart in knowing that he had an opportunity to be here and share in this journey called life. I am sure you have great memories of him that will never leave you. Rest well Nyle.
